DESCRIPTION:Marine Biologist Led Snorkel Field Trip – in Tierra Verde\, FL \nMon\, Apr 27 | Tierra Verde \nDive into the Tampa Bay estuary. Offered seasonaly\, students snorkel over sand flats and seagrass beds\, taking an up-close look at the biodiversity within. With dip nets\, animals are collected for observation. \nDuration: 120 min boat tour with snorkeling excursion \nMinimum Age: 8 \nGuests can grab a dip net or borrow a mask and snorkel to join our knowledgeable marine science educators in search of fish\, crabs\, snails\, seahorses\, and more. You are also welcome to stroll or swim in the shallows. \nFAQs: \nWho is this excursion designed for? \nThis excursion is great for anyone interested in exploring and learning more about Tampa Bay and its wildlife. We strongly recommend that all participants can swim. \nIs there an age requirement? \nThis program is open to anyone 8 years and older. All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. \nWhere does the boat go? \nThe eco-vessel anchors along the extensive sandbar system that runs along St. Petersburg in Tampa Bay. Typically\, the snorkeling area will include a mix of sand and seagrass. \nWhat kind of snorkeling experience is needed? \nNone! The Tampa Bay Watch crew is happy to teach you how to snorkel. \nDoes TBW provide gear? What is it? \nYes\, we provide masks and snorkels. You are welcome to bring your own snorkel gear if you feel more comfortable using it. We also have inflatable snorkel vests available to help you float along the surface. We do not provide water shoes and they are highly recommended. \nWhat might we find in the water? \nExplorers will see a variety of fishes that inhabit the seagrass. Most are small species or babies\, as Tampa Bay is a nursery habitat. \nYour guides will help you find several invertebrates\, including sea stars\, hermit crabs\, marine snails\, and more! \nDoes everyone have to snorkel? \nNo. Guests are welcome to hang out on the eco-vessel or simply walk or float through the snorkel area. Most of the area should be shallow enough to stand up. \nCan we bring drinks and snacks? \nFood and beverages are welcome on the eco-vessel\, and water in an eco-friendly\, reusable container is highly recommended. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed. \nCoolers are also allowed. \nAre drinks and snacks sold on the boat? \nNo. \nIs there a bathroom on the boat? \nYes. \nIs there shade on the boat? \nYes. Grades 3-6 are invited to sign up for a day at the Lakeland Linder Airport- Aerospace Center for Excellence \nAerospace Center for Excellence Field Trip @ Lakeland Linder Airport \nCalling all 3rd – 6th Grade learners that are interested in flight\, engineering or NOAA! \nBusy Bee Homeschool Hive has scheduled a field trip to the Lakeland Linder Airport’s ACE program. \nProgram Details \nDuring a field trip to the Aerospace Center for Excellence our highly trained STEM Educators will guide your students through an immersive\, hands-on experience that consists of: \nInteractive presentations \nLive demonstrations \nLab activities and immersive experiments (based on grade level) \nField trip programs run from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm in the Skylab Innovation Center and include the Science On a Sphere Lab\, the Engineering Lab\, and either the Flight Simulation Lab (Grades 5th-6th) or the Florida Air Museum (grades 3rd-4th) depending upon the age of your students. Featuring 24 interactive learning opportunities for aspiring aviators regarding the science and practice of flight\, this aviation themed playground has the layout of an airport\, complete with taxiways and runways.
