DESCRIPTION:Priority Registration \nGeneral Registration \nThe EK Youth Fishing Homeschool Program is a hands-on\, nature-based learning experience designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of fishing while fostering a deeper connection to the outdoors. Built specifically for homeschool families\, the program combines science\, environmental education\, and practical outdoor skills into a fun and engaging format. Students learn the basics of fishing\, including knot tying\, baiting hooks\, casting techniques\, fish identification\, and water safety. Lessons also cover ecology\, conservation\, and the importance of respecting natural habitats\, giving students an understanding of how humans and aquatic life are connected within an ecosystem. \nThe program encourages curiosity\, patience\, and responsibility\, helping children gain confidence as they practice new skills. Through guided instruction and supervised fishing sessions\, students experience the excitement of catching fish while learning valuable life lessons in perseverance and teamwork. Each session blends academic concepts—such as biology\, environmental science\, and even elements of math—with practical\, real-world applications that make learning both meaningful and memorable. \nWhats Included: \n​SA Fishing Straw Hat \nSA Face Shield \nCotton T-Shirt \nKayaks / PFD’s \nTackle / Equipment \nBait / Artificial’s \nRod & Reel (if needed)​ \nKeepsake Photo \n  \nEvery Tuesday or Friday Join the fishing fun: \nWe start with a team meeting to go over the day’s plan. \nUnder the guidance of a experienced licensed\, and screened Fishing Coaches\, kids experience what it takes to fish on Kayaks\, Jon Boats\, on land (different shoreline scenario’s for casting) & more while building team-work skills in a fun and safe environment. \nThere will be guest speakers and teachers on designated days. \nAll registered kids receive a Short Sleeve cotton “EK Youth Fishing” Shirt and Straw Fishing Hat. \nAll equipment is included for the kids to use such as Nautical Ventures Kayak fleet\, equipment\, bait\, and tackle. It is encouraged for kids to bring their own Rod and Reel\, but if kids don’t have it\, we will provide them as well. \nOur daily schedule is as follows: \n9:00am Drop off and check in \n9:15am Meet Coaches and team members\, go over safety briefing and go over the days plans \n9:30am -1pm Fishing and Fun on Jon Boats\, Kayaks and on land with a lunch break from 11am-11:30am \n1:00pm Pickups \nSpace is limited with 3 groups of 10 for a total of 30 kids max. Each group consisting of a fishing coach. space is limited! \nWhat Kids Learn: \nEK Youth Fishing Homeschool program is designed for kids 5-12 years of age with any level of fishing experience. No experience needed as we love being a child’s first exposure to what often becomes a life-long passion. \nKids learn Kayak Fishing and safety\, rod/reel selection\, knot tying\, bait rigging\, hooking live bait\, techniques on using live bait and lures (aka artificial baits)\, tackle\, land fishing and techniques\, casting\, catching bait\, using different equipment for fishing\, navigation skills\, species identification and targeting\, and reeling in and catching fish with photos available by request for parents and kids to keep. \nOur goal is to teach kids life long fishing skills in a fun and safe environment. \n  \nWinter Session is Full!
