CLASSES FOR AGES 3-18 YEARS OLD

Teen Ballet: Ballet for pre-teens and teens, who may be beginners or experienced dancers that want to be challenged and learn the art of dance, however can not commit to a rigorous dance schedule. Dancers in this level are welcome to attend one to two days a week. Thursday 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM

Jazz IV & V: Jazz for ages 14 and older, or according to ability. Thursday 9:15 -10:00 AM

Ballet II: Ballet for ages 10 and older, or according to ability. Thursday 10:00- 11:00 AM

Jazz I: Jazz for ages 8 and older, or according to ability. Thursday 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM

Beginner Pointe: Beginner Pointe for level II. Two ballet classes a week are required in addition to pointe. Thursday 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM

Tap I & II: Tap for ages 8-11 or according to ability. Thursday 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM

Ballet V: Ballet for ages 14 and older or according to ability. Two ballet classes a week are required for dancers in this level. Evaluation required for this level. Thursday 11:30 to 1:00 PM

Modern II: Modern for ages 10 and older, or according to ability. Thursday 12:00- 12:45 PM

Modern III: Modern for ages 12 and older, or according to ability. Two ballet classes a week are required in this level. Evaluation required for this level. Thursday 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM

Modern IV & V: Modern for ages 14 and older, or according to ability. Two ballet classes in addition to modern are required for this level. Evaluation required for this level. Thursday 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM

Pointe, Level IV/V: Pointe for ages 14 and older or according to ability. Two ballet classes a week are required in addition to pointe. Evaluation required for this level. Thursday 1:00- 2:00 PM

Pointe III: Pointe for ages 12 and older or according to ability. Two ballet classes a week are required in addition to pointe. Evaluation required for this level. Thursday 2:15 PM to 3:00 PM

Selah Academy is a dance school for homeschoolers directed by former homeschool and New World School of the Arts graduate, Brittany Kernohan. Selah Academy hopes to build each student’s dance technique as well as character. We believe as strongly in the power of a great dance education as we do about creating beautiful, loving and strong students. Selah teaches students the fundamentals of dance, body alignment and terminology, with focus on ballet and modern dance education. Classes harbor a fun and encouraging atmosphere to help build confidence, learn teamwork, grace and develop dance technique. We offer ballet, modern, jazz, tap and pointe classes all during the day, specifically gearing these classes to homeschooled students.

Selah Academy is proud to include the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough 9-level program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development. The ABT® National Training Curriculum consists of a comprehensive set of age-appropriate, outcome-based guidelines to provide the highest quality ballet training to dance students of all ages and skill levels.

We offer classes Monday-Friday. We are at our West Davie location Monday through Wednesday, and our East Davie location on Thursday and Friday.
