The program is rooted in accessibility, inclusivity, and empowerment, reinforcing the message that anyone can DJ, even without expensive equipment.
The initial four week DJ workshop will be an introduction to the “SoundLab”. By permanently setting up DJ equipment in a designated corner of the Creation Station, youth will see music technology as an everyday option, not a specialized workshop tool. This visibility will encourage spontaneous exploration, peer-to-peer learning, and increased demand for music programming. You can begin your creative journey at the Broward County Library through accessible resources available to the public and continue your education at home with nothing more than a laptop and free software.
