History Quest: Trial Class @ Ivory & Sage Homeschool

The History Quest Trial Class is designed to give families an authentic look into our History Quest program at Ivory & Sage Homeschool. Rather than a lecture or worksheet-based class, History Quest centers on experiential learning. Children explore history through hands-on activities, discussion, collaboration, and guided projects that encourage curiosity and critical thinking. Classes take place in a relaxed, outdoor Florida backyard setting beneath oak trees, creating a calm and engaging environment where learning feels natural and unforced. This trial class blends elements from our regular History Quest curriculum to show how lessons unfold, how children interact, and how we create a shared learning experience rooted in community, creativity, and respect for childhood. It is ideal for families considering enrollment who want to experience the rhythm and atmosphere of Ivory & Sage firsthand. Class size is intentionally small to allow for meaningful engagement and connection.

What to Expect

A small group setting (no more than 10 children) • Outdoor learning on our Micro-Homestead • Hands-on history activities using maps, materials, and guided projects • Movement, discussion, and collaborative learning • A welcoming environment that encourages curiosity • A clear sense of how History Quest classes are structured and facilitated This is not a sit-and-listen class. Children are encouraged to explore, ask questions, and engage with the material in an age-appropriate and active way.
