CURRICULUM-BASED. Welcome to First Mate Boating Academy, where students gain valuable boating and fishing skills critical to becoming a good first mate (second in command). Led by professional Charter Captains, students enjoy a 3:1 student-to-teacher instruction, ensuring a personalized and safe learning environment.
ACADEMY (Ages 8-13): First Mate certifications, where students progress from learning boating and fishing fundamentals to achieving intermediate and advanced First Mate skills.
SAFE TEEN BOATERS (Ages 13-18): First Mate Academy is the only in-person, youth boat training program in Florida, providing teens with hands-on training for safe on-the-water vessel operations.
Additionally, First Mate Academy is the only First Mate education program in Florida, providing youth the skills to be “Today’s Mates & Tomorrow’s Captains. Direct provider of Step Up for Students. 6 classes. Bring: Water bottle and wear sunscreen.
$275 per 6 class sessions.
